Birthed of Hope · AI With Wisdom Series

Artificial Intelligence
Used with Intention

Understanding the real-world footprint of AI, why that matters, and how Birthed of Hope approaches technology with accountability, wisdom, and purpose.

A Tool, Not a Superpower

AI is here right now. And it is genuinely useful. For documentation, efficiency, ideation, and execution. But we do not build our work around it as though it is permanent, infallible, or free of cost. We use it wisely, disclose its limitations honestly, and make sure every organization or individual we support understands both the opportunity and the responsibility.

"Even if AI is only available to us for another month, and in that time we built your documentation, formulated your strategy, and drafted your systems. You are still months ahead of where you would have been without it. That is leverage."

. Birthed of Hope · AI Adoption Philosophy

01

Use It While It Exists

AI availability is not guaranteed. Tools change, companies shift, regulations evolve. Capitalize on what is available today. The efficiency gained is yours to keep even if the tool disappears tomorrow.

02

Never Depend On It Completely

Every system we help you build using AI has a backup that does not require AI. Your data, your logic, your processes. None of it should live only inside a tool you do not control.

03

Protect Sensitive Information

AI tools are not private vaults. We never input sensitive personal, financial, or confidential organizational data into public AI systems. That boundary is non-negotiable in every engagement we lead.

04

Stay Educated as It Changes

What is true about AI today may not be true in six months. We stay current so our clients do not have to. When something shifts, we communicate it clearly and adjust accordingly.

The Real Footprint of AI

AI uses real resources. Water, electricity, and carbon. We believe informed use is responsible use. Here is what the research actually shows, and how it compares to activities most of us do every day.

~500ml
Water used per 100-word AI prompt (equivalent to one standard water bottle)
32. 80M
Tons of COâ‚‚ from global AI annually. Comparable to New York City's yearly emissions
183 TWh
US data center electricity use in 2024. Over 4% of all US power
15. 20%
Share of data center energy attributable to AI workloads in 2024 (IEA estimate)

How Does AI Compare?

These numbers are real and worth knowing. They are also worth contextualizing. Here is how common everyday activities compare. Not to dismiss the impact, but to give it honest perspective.

🤖

AI Prompt (100 words)

~500ml

water footprint (direct + indirect cooling)

vs. 1 Google search: ~0.3ml · AI uses significantly more per query

📱

Charging Your Smartphone

~5Wh

electricity per full charge, daily over a year = ~1.8 kWh

vs. AI server: 100,000+ homes worth of power per large hyperscale facility

🎬

Streaming Video (1 hour)

~36g

COâ‚‚ per hour of HD video streaming

vs. AI training a large model: hundreds of tons of COâ‚‚. A one-time but significant cost

🚗

Driving a Gasoline Car

~4.6 tons

COâ‚‚ per year for average US driver

vs. Global AI footprint: equivalent to 6. 17 million cars annually at current estimates

🌊

US Daily Water Use

1.6x

The US uses 1.6x more water daily than the max annual AI estimate globally

Context: AI water use is real but not yet at macro infrastructure scale

What We Do About It

Awareness without action is just anxiety. Here is how Birthed of Hope holds itself and its clients accountable when it comes to AI adoption and sustainability.

When You Choose Kairos,
You Choose Our Standard

Kairos AI is Birthed of Hope's internally developed AI tool. Built specifically for faith-based leaders and organizations. Because we are building it, we are accountable for it in ways that third-party tools cannot be. Kairos AI launches July 2026. Available for early access and subscription.

The Kairos AI Integrity Standard

Kairos AI is currently in development and will be available for early access and subscription in July 2026. Every organization that adopts Kairos AI will benefit from the same research, testing, and ethical framework that we apply to our own operations. This is not a product built to sell and move on from. It is a tool we are building for ourselves first, which means our standards of integrity and accountability are baked into how it is built, updated, and supported.

"Technology is a gift available in this season. We will use it faithfully, disclose it honestly, and hold it loosely. Because the mission does not depend on any single tool. It depends on people, purpose, and the wisdom to know the difference."
